Join Carlos for a two day class detailing the design and construction of Great Basin style Armitas.
All leather, hardware, glue and thread will be included for you to complete one pair, your choice of color
You will learn how to create a base pattern and make adjustments based on a person’s measurements
We will detail layout and construction techniques, with an emphasis on time efficiency, fit and finish
We will be using the sewing machines in the classroom. Although not completely necessary, some sewing experience would be a plus
You will go home with a completed pair of Armitas, and the knowledge to build another set! Choose from four colors for your Armitas: Cream, Beach, Brandy or Chocolate (See photos)
About Armitas: Armitas (meaning little armor) were the leggins’ of the vaquero. Originally made of deer or elk hide, these are a stylistic homage to the early Armitas.
*Terms: Classes are non-refundable, but reusable, if something happens to you or us, we will reschedule. I will never keep anyone’s money just to keep it!
